How To Rotate In Canva (Step By Step)
Follow the below steps to learn how to rotate in Canva:
1. Open/ Create a Design
On the Canva homepage, look for the ‘Recent Designs’ section and then click on the past design whose text, elements, pictures, etc you want to rotate.
And that design will open in the Canva editor.
Or if you want to start a design from scratch, click on the ‘Create a Design’ button from the top right corner of the screen and then click on your desired design type.
Once you have your design opened in front of you, it is time to learn how to rotate in Canva.
2. Rotate In Canva
Guess what? You can’t just rotate videos or photos in Canva, but you can also rotate elements, and pages as well.

a) Rotate Photos And Videos
Click on the photo that you want to rotate and as a result of which a ‘Rotation Handle’ will appear at the bottom of the photo.
Click and while pressing the left button of your mouse, drag the rotation handle in the direction you want to rotate the image.
As you drag, you’ll see the image rotating.
Or you can also click on the ‘Flip’ button from the top toolbar to rotate the photo horizontally or vertically.
Note: The process of rotating videos is the same as that of rotating images.
b) Rotate The Elements
Click on the element that you want to rotate. This could be a text, shape, sticker, etc.
After selecting the element, you will see a bounding box with a rotation handle at the bottom.
While pressing the left button of your mouse, drag the rotation handle in the direction in which you want your element to rotate.
As you drag the rotation handle, the element in front of you will keep rotating.
Once you reach an angle at which you want to stop rotating, just release the left button of your mouse.
c) Rotate The Page
If you want to rotate the existing page or design in Canva, then click on the ‘Resize’ button from the top of the screen.
Now you’ll see a new menu for resizing your design. Simply swap the numerical value of the ‘Custom Size’ section to rotate the existing design.
Enter the width’s numerical value on the height’s section and the height’s numerical value on the width’s section.
Lastly, click on the ‘Copy & Resize’ or ‘Resize’ button at the bottom.

d) Rotate Multiple Elements
To rotate multiple elements in Canva, you first have to select multiple elements.
While pressing the ‘Shift’ key on your keyboard, click on each element that you want to rotate to add them to the selection.
Once all the elements are selected, a rotation handle will appear at the bottom of the selection box.
While pressing the left button of your mouse, drag the rotation handle to rotate the entire group of elements.
