Follow the below steps to know how to resize an image in Canva without cropping:

1. Open Your Design Containing The Image

Login to your canva account and open the design that you want to work on.

If you don’t have any such design then you can click on the ‘Create a Design’ button from the top right corner of the Canva homepage to open a new design type.

Note: if your design does not have an image then you can either click on the ‘Photos’ button to add Canva stock photos from the left sidebar or upload your own by clicking on the ‘Uploads’ button from the same left sidebar.

2. Resize Your Image

Once you have your design containing the photo opened, you can proceed further to resize it.

There are two methods for resizing an image in Canva:

a) Manual Resize

If you have a Canva free account, you can only use this method to resize an image on Canva. You can’t take advantage of the 2nd method mentioned below.

Click on the image you want to resize, as a result of which a boundary box will appear around it indicating that it is selected.

Once the image is selected, you will see resizing handles (small circles) around the corners of the boundary box.

While pressing the left button on the mouse, drag one corner of the boundary box away from the image to make the image bigger in size.

Or you can drag the corner of the boundary box closer to the image to make the image smaller in size.

To resize the image proportionally from all the corners, just hold the “Alt” key on your keyboard and drag any one corner of the image.

Note: you can use all four corners of the boundary box to resize the image according to your need.

b) Resize Button

If you are a Canva Pro user then you can take advantage of this step.

Firstly, right-click on the image, and from the options that appear in front of you click further on the ‘Set Image As Background’ button.

Then click on the ‘Resize’ button from the top of the screen.

Now a new menu with resize options will appear in front of you. If you have a specific dimension for resizing your image then you can type it (width and height) in the custom size category.

Note: if you want to resize your image from landscape to portrait then you can also swap the width’s and height’s numerical value.

Or if you do want to have a specific dimension in your mind then you can also click on one of the design types under the ‘All’ category.
