1. Creating a Calendar In Canva From Scratch

Creating a calendar in Canva from scratch is way easier than it sounds. Just follow this 5-step guide and your calendar will be ready in no time.

Choose Your Document Size

Visit the Canva website and log into your account.

Click on the “Custom Size” button present on the top right of your Canva Homepage.

Enter your preferred Width and Height in the specified boxes and choose the right format like pixels, inches, millimeters, and centimeters.

Now hit the “Create New Design” button.

You will see a blank canvas will be created based on your entered dimensions. 

Make a Calendar Grid

Now we have to make a grid layout to cover all the weeks and dates of a month.

Click on the “Elements” option present on the left side menu. Select “Table” and then “See All” in the Tables category.

Click any of the tables you want to use in your calendar. It will add the table to your calendar design.

You can make a lot of customizations in this table, like:

Add Rows And Columns To This Table

Select the table by clicking on it. Now move your cursor between the rows [or columns] where you want to add new rows [or columns].

A + sign will appear, click on it. A new row (or column) will be added automatically.

Delete Rows And Columns From This Table

To delete a row (or column), click on any cell and your cell will be highlighted with a purple outline, now right click on that cell and you will see options to delete the row or column associated with that cell.

If you click on “Delete Row”, the row containing that cell will be deleted and the same thing goes with the column too.

Resize The Table

Select the table by clicking on it. Four small dots will appear in all four corners of the table. Just drag one of these small white dots to resize the size of your table

Customize The Cell Styling

You can play with the cell styling as well like changing the cell colors, size, border style, color, and border thickness of individual cells, just click on the cell and adjust the settings from the top toolbar.

Adjust The Transparency of The Table

Select your table by clicking on it. Now click on the small chessboard type “Transparency” icon present on the top menu.

Now adjust the slider to increase or decrease the transparency of your table as per your needs.

Add Your Text & Play With The Fonts

Once you have created your table, and formatted that in a grid layout for your calendar, it is time to add text to your table.

Select the cell of the table you want to add text by clicking on it.

Enter your text and select the text by double-clicking on it. Now you can edit the font style, font size, color, etc of this selected text from the top bar options.

If you want more flexibility, you can add your own text boxes from the left sidebar inside the cells instead of using inbuilt table text boxes.

Add Images and Decorations

So add your favorite cliparts, images, and styling elements to your calendar.
