Or if you want to evenly space text on a new design. Then click on the ‘Create a Design’ button from the top right corner of the Canva homepage.

Click on the design type you want to work on and it will open up a blank canvas in a new tab.

2. Select Your Text Element

After opening up your design, you have to select multiple text elements that you want to evenly space.

drag the cursor to select the text element 1

Either by pressing on the left button of the mouse, and then dragging the cursor over all the text elements that you want to select.

Use Shift Key Method to select elements

Or while pressing the ‘Shift’ key on your keyword, keep clicking on the text elements to add them to the selection.

Now a boundary box will appear around it.

3. Evenly Space Your Text

After selecting your element using either method, we can start to evenly space your text.

Below are two methods for evenly spacing your text in Canva:

a) Using Space Evenly Option (In Position Tab)

Click on the ‘Position’ button from the top toolbar.

Now a menu will open on the left-hand side, where you will be able to see various arrangement settings.

click on position button

Look for the ‘Space Evenly’ section and then click on the ‘Vertically’ button.

As a result of which your text will get vertically evenly spaced in front of you.

If you want to horizontally space your text, then you have to first arrange your text in a horizontal manner (refer to the screenshot below).

arrange your text

After arranging your text horizontally, select multiple text elements by following the ‘Shift’ key method as mentioned above.

And then click on the ‘Position’ button from the top toolbar, and from the new menu click on ‘Horizontally’.

Now your text will get horizontally evenly spaced in front of you.

position your text horizontally

Note: In the same way, you can arrange, select, and then tidy up your text elements as well.

b) Using Canva Auto Guidelines

Guidelines can also help you to evenly space your text elements.

To evenly space two text elements vertically, drag one text element below the other text element.

As you drag the text element, you will notice a vertically dotted line. This line will guide you with the alignment and spacing of the text.

use guideline to arrange first text element

Stop dragging the element, once you get the spacing that you need.

In the same way, drag another text element near the previously positioned text elements.

As a result of which again a vertically dotted line will appear in front of you.

use guideline to arrange second text element

Now you can use the dotted line to evenly space your text elements.

4. Download Your Design

After evenly spacing your text, you can proceed to download your design.

click on share button

Click on the ‘Share’ button from the top right corner of the screen and then on the ‘Download’ button.

download your design

From the download settings, change the file type to PNG and then click on the ‘Download’ button at the bottom.
