How To Use Canva For TikTok (3 Fun Ways)

Follow the below steps to create TikTok using Canva:

1. Creating Tiktok Videos Using Canva

Yes, you can create amazing viral Tiktok videos using a canva video editor.

No need to download and learn heavy editing software when you can do it with simple drag and drop using Canva.

Let’s take a look at how to edit Tiktok videos using canva.

1. Sign In Or Log In On Canva

Go to the Canva website.

If you don’t have a Canva account, start by signing in for free. If you already have an account, log in to access the Canva homepage.

2. Search For TikTok

From the Canva homepage, click on the ‘Create a Design’ button from the top right corner of your screen.

A new menu with various design types will appear in front of you. Search for ‘TikTok’ from the top search bar and then click on it.

As a result of which you will be directed to a blank canvas.

3. Choose a Template

Once you get directed to a blank canvas, click on the ‘Design’ button from the left sidebar to get access to Canva’s library of pre-made templates.

Scroll through the available options or search for what you want from the top search bar. When you see a template that meets for requirements, click on it to add it to your canvas.

4. Remove Unwanted Elements

The template you choose may contain a lot of unwanted elements.

To remove elements that you do not want in your design, click on that element as a result of which a purple color boundary box will appear around it.

Click on the ‘Backspace’ key on your keyword to remove the unwanted element. Or you can also right-click on the selected element and click on the ‘Delete’ button from the new menu.

5. Customize Your Design

Now it’s time to customize your design and get creative. Customize your design by adding images, your custom video clips, elements, and texts, etc.

a) Add Your Photos Or Videos

Click on the ‘Uploads’ button from the left sidebar. As a result of which a new menu will appear in front of you, further click on the ‘Upload Files’ button to upload images or videos from your computer to Canva.

Once the file is uploaded, it will appear in your uploads library. Simply drag and drop your image or video from the uploads library to your design.

b) Customize Text

If you like the existing font size and font style of the text element and just want to replace the text.

Then you should double-click on the text element that you want to change and Start typing the text that you want.

If you want to add new text, then click on the ‘Text’ button from the left sidebar.

Either you can choose any Default text styles or click on the ‘Add a Text Box’ button to create a blank text box and have full control over the text format.

c) Add Elements

Once you have your images, videos, and texts in place, it’s time to add some decorative elements like doodles, vectors, illustrations, sahoes, etc to your design. Click on the ‘Elements’ button from the left sidebar.

Now scroll through the wide range of elements such as shapes & lines, stickers, graphics, etc. Or use the above search bar to search for the keyword that you are looking for.

When you have your desired element in front of you, click on it to add it to your design.

d) Insert Audio

To add audio to your TikTok, Click on the ‘Apps’ button from the left sidebar and then scroll further to click on the ‘Audio’ button.

This will open a new menu with hundreds of audio to choose from. Click on the audio which best suits your need.

Note: Most of the audios are only available to Canva Pro users. My advice will be to upload your own audio from the ‘Uploads’ button.

6. Download Your Design

Play with different images, texts, audio, and elements until you get satisfied with the results.

Once you’re satisfied with your TikTok, click on the ‘Share’ button located at the top-right corner of your screen. From the new menu, further, click on the ‘Download’ button.

Now you will be asked to select the file type for your design before downloading.

Note: if you download any kind of video from Canva (like in this case TikTok), you’ll have to choose ‘MP4 Video’ as file type.

After changing the file type to Mp4, click on the ‘Download’ button. Canva will then process your video and prepare it for download.

2. Creating Tiktok Thumbnails

So for creating tiktok thumbnails, create a blank canvas of around 1080 x 1920 pixels.

After that, you will be directed to a blank canvas.

Let’s start by adding a background to our thumbnail.

To add a color to your background, Click on the canvas once and then on the ‘Background Color’ button from the top toolbar.

Now you can select a color from the given options.

Or if you want to add an image as your background, click on the ‘App’ button and then scroll down to click on the ‘Background’ button.

Canva library of pre-made backgrounds will open in front of you. Click on the background you like the most to add it to your design.

If you want to add elements to your design, then click on the ‘Element’ button from the left side toolbar.

Scroll through the given options or search from the top search bar to get what you are looking for.

Now it’s time to add images to your design.

Either you can click on the ‘Upload’ button from the left side toolbar to add your own pics or click on the ‘Apps’ button and then on the ‘Photos’ button to use Canva stock images.

To add text to your thumbnail, click on the ‘Text’ button from the left side toolbar.

Use the ‘Add a Text Box’ button, ‘Default Text Styles’, or ‘Font Combinations’ to add text to your design.

Once you get satisfied with the results, it’s time to save your design.

Click on the ‘Share’ button and then on the ‘Download’ button.

Set the file format to PNG or JPG and click on the ‘Download’ button again at the end.

3. Creating TikTok End Frames

Under your Recent Designs from Canva homepage, click on the TikTok Video design that you made earlier from Canva.

When your design on the new window, click on the ‘Add a Page’ button or ‘+’ icon from the bottom of your screen.

2.Click on the ‘Design’ button from the left side toolbar and then search for the ‘TikTok End frame’ option from the top search bar.

Scroll through and click on the template that best suits for needs.

3.Once you have the template in front of you, double-click on the text elements that you want to change and start typing the new content such as your Tiktok username, etc.

4.To add your images to the TikTok End frame, first, click on that image and then click on the ‘Backspace’ key from your keyboard to remove the existing picture.

Then use the ‘Uploads’ button from the left sidebar as shown above.

A Tiktok end frame is nothing without proper audio or background music? click on the ‘Apps’ button and then on the ‘Audio’ button from the left sidebar.

Scroll through the pre-existing audio or use the search bar to look for the audio you need and then click on it.

To preview your design before downloading, click on the ‘Preview’ or ‘Play’ icon from the top right corner of your screen.

Once you get satisfied with the TikTok End Frame, click on the ‘Share’ button and then on the ‘Download’ button. Set the file type to ‘MP4 Video’ and click on the ‘Download’ button again.
