How To Make Text Transparent In Canva (Step By Step!)
Below are the steps that you can follow to make a text transparent in Canva:
1. Open/Create A Design
Go to the Canva website and then log in to your account using your credentials.
From the Canva homepage, look for the ‘Recent Designs’ section. This section contains all the projects on which you have worked in the past.
Click on the thumbnail of the design whose text you want to make transparent and it will open in the Canva editor.
2. Make Text Transparent
After getting redirected to the blank canvas, we can start by making the text transparent.
However, there are two ways of making text transparent in Canva. Let’s have a look at each of the methods below!
a) Transparency Slider
Click on the text that you want to make transparent in your design.
For example, I want to make ‘Congratulations’ transparent. So, I will click on that text element.
After selecting the text element, click on the ‘Transparency’ button from the top toolbar.
A new transparency slider will open in front of you. Drag the ‘Transparency Slider’ towards the left side to decrease the opacity of the selected text element.
Release the slider when you achieve the level of transparency that you want.
You can also click on the field near the transparency slider and then enter your desired value.
After entering the value, press the ‘Enter’ key from your keyboard to apply those changes to your text.
The text in front of you will become transparent.
b) Hollow Effect
You can also make your text transparent by using the hollow effect.
Firstly, click on the text that you want to make transparent. After highlighting your desired text, click on the ‘Effects’ button from the top toolbar.
Now a new menu will open on the left-hand side containing various effects such as pop, splice, outline, neon, etc.
Click on the ‘Hollow’ effect from the new menu. This effect will create an outline of the selected text.
After clicking on an effect, a ‘Thickness’ slider will appear below your selected effect. This slider will help you to increase or decrease the thickness of the applied effect.
To make your text transparent, drag the ‘Thickness’ slider towards the left-hand side. As you drag the slider, you will notice the text becoming transparent.
You can also enter the value in the field near the ‘Thickness’ slider and then press the ‘Enter’ key from your keyboard to apply those changes to your text.
3. Save Your Design
After making your text transparent, click on the ‘Share’ button from the top right corner of the screen and then on the ‘Download’ button.
Set your file type to PNG from download settings and then click on the ‘Download’ button at the end.
Canva will now start preparing your design for downloading.
