How To Make Rainbow Letters In Canva (Step By Step!)

Follow the below steps to create a rainbow letter in Canva:

1. Create New Design

Click on the ‘Create a Design’ button from the top right corner of the Canva homepage.

Then scroll through the new menu to look for your desired design type. Or use the top search bar to search for your specific design type.

Once you find the design type that you like, click on it to get redirected to the blank canvas.

Note: If you want to create a custom design, click on the ‘Custom Size’ button from the bottom left corner of the new menu and then enter your desired dimensions.

2. Add Alphabetical Frames

After getting redirected to the blank canvas, proceed with adding alphabetical frames to your design.

Click on the ‘Elements’ button from the left-hand sidebar and then search for ‘Frames’ from the top search bar.

Now from the search results, click on the ‘See All’ button under the ‘Frames’ category to get access to all the frames in Canva.

Note: Now you have to decide which word you want to create using the frames.

Scroll through the frame menu, and click on the frame of the first alphabet for your desired word.

For example, I want to create the word ‘Rainbow’. So, I will click on the ‘R’ frame to add it to my design.

Once the frame is on your canvas, drag the ‘Resizing’ handles to make the frame bigger or smaller in size according to your need.

After resizing the frame, drag and position it on the right-hand side of the canvas as it is our first alphabet of the word.

Now from the frame menu, click on the frame of your second alphabet.

For example, I am creating a ‘Rainbow’ text. So, I will click on the frame of the second alphabet ‘A’.

After adding the second alphabetical frame on the canvas, resize and position it horizontally on the design.

Note: Follow the same process to keep adding frames until you form your desired word on the Canvas.

3. Add Rainbow Gradient

After forming an alphabetical word on the canvas, we will proceed with adding a rainbow gradient on the frame.

Click on the ‘Apps’ button from the left sidebar and then scroll down to click on the ‘Photos’ button from the new menu.

Once you click on the ‘Photos’ button, Canva’s wide library of stock images will open in front of you.

Search for ‘Rainbow Gradient’ from the top search bar. Then from the search results, drag and drop the rainbow gradient of your liking on the first alphabetical frame.

For example, I will drag and drop the rainbow gradient on the ‘R’ alphabetical frame.

You can follow the same process to add ‘Rainbow Gradient’ manually to each alphabetical frame.

However, there is another method for adding ‘Rainbow Gradient’ to the rest of the alphabetical frames in just one click.

To apply ‘Rainbow Gradient’ to the rest of the frames at once, click on the first alphabetical frame and then on the ‘Copy Style’ button from the top toolbar.

After clicking on the ‘Copy Style’ button, drag your cursor over the empty frames. A boundary box will appear around them indicating that they are selected.

Once you release the left button of the mouse, all the empty frames will get filled with rainbow gradients.

4. Download Your Design

After creating rainbow letters, click on the ‘Share’ button from the top right corner of the screen and then on the ‘Download’ button to open the download setting.

From the download settings, set your file type to PNG and then hit the ‘Download’ button at the end to start the downloading process.
