How To Stretch Text In Canva
Follow the below steps to learn how to stretch text in Canva:
1. Open a Design
The first step is to open your design in which you want to stretch the text.
You can choose a design from the ‘Recent Designs’ section on the Canva homepage, and click on the thumbnail of your desired design.
Then Canva will give you access to edit that design.
Or If you want to stretch the text of a new design, then click on the ‘Create a Design’ button from the top right corner of the Canva homepage and select a new blank template of your choice to create a new design.
Note: If your design does not have a text element, then click on the ‘Text’ button from the left sidebar. Now click on any text style that you like the most to add it to your design.
2. Stretch The Text
After opening your desired design, it is time to give the text element a stretch-like effect.
However, there are 2 ways to stretch the text in Canva. So, let’s have a look at it one by one.
a) Resize The Text Element
Click on the text element ones to select it. You will see a boundary box with small circles at the corners.
To resize the text element, while pressing the left button of your mouse, drag the corner circle outwards to make the text bigger.
Or if you want to make the text smaller in size then while pressing the left button of your mouse, drag the corner circle inward.
You can use all four corner circles to adjust the text’s size until you get satisfied.
b) Letter Spacing Feature
You can also stretch the text element by giving some space between the letters.
Letter spacing not only helps to give the text a stretch-like effect but can also help to increase the text readability.
To get access to the letter spacing feature, first, click on the text element ones to select it.
Then click on the ‘Spacing’ button from the top toolbar. As a result of which a new menu will open in front of you.
To give the text a stretch-like effect, drag the ‘Letter Spacing’ slider towards the right side and the spaces between the letters will start to increase.
You can also decrease the spacing between the letters by dragging the ‘Letter Spacing’ slider on the left side.
If you want to increase or decrease the spacing between the lines then you can also drag the ‘Line Spacing’ from right or left.
3. Download Your Design
Once you are done stretching your text and satisfied with how your text looks, you can then proceed with downloading your design to your desktop.
To download your design, click on the ‘Share’ button from the top right corner of the screen and then on the ‘Download’ button.
