How To Animate Canva Presentations
The below steps will help you to add animations to your Canva presentation:
1. Open Canva And Log In
Go to the Canva website.
If you already have a Canva account, click on the “Log in” button at the top right corner of the Canva homepage.
Enter your login credentials (email and password) and click “Log in.”
If you don’t have a Canva account yet, click on the “Sign up” button at the top right corner of the Canva homepage.
You can sign up using your email address, Google account, or Facebook account.
2. Create a New Presentation
After logging in or signing up, you will be redirected to your Canva homepage, from where you can access your previous designs or create new ones.
To create a new design, click on the ‘Create a design’ button in the top right corner of the dashboard.
A new menu will appear with various design types. Scroll down and click on “Presentation” from the menu.
3. Choose A Template
After clicking on ‘Presentation’ you will be redirected to a blank Canva page where you can start creating your presentation.
But instead of starting from scratch, I would suggest you go with some premade presentation templates.
From the left sidebar, click on the ‘Design’ button and browse through the available templates. You can also use the search bar to find a template that suits your needs.
Once you find a template that matches your need or requirement, you have to click on it to add the template to your canvas.
To add more pages to your presentation, Click on the “Add a new page” button or the “+” sign. You can find this button below your already existing page.
4. Select The Element You Want To Animate
Now we have to select the element that you want to animate. It could be a text box, image, shape, or any other design element on the slide.
Click on the element you wish to select. As a result of which a purple bounding box will appear around the element, indicating that it is selected.
Once the element is selected, a new toolbar will appear at the top of the screen.
5. Select An Animation
Click on the “Animate” button from the top toolbar. After clicking on the animate button, a new left-side menu will appear with various animation options.
You can choose an animation from a variety of options like “Fade”, “Rise”, or “Pop”.
Once you find an animation that matches your need and requirement, click on it.
That particulate animation will be applied to your selected element.
You can now follow the same step to animate all your elements.
6. Animating The Entire Slide
Now if you don’t want to animate every element one by one there is an easy way around.
You can animate the entire slide and all it’s elements including text, graphics, background, images, etc in just one click.
Just click anywhere on the page background (make sure no element is selected).
And then click on “Animate” button from the top toolbar.
Select the animation you want and that particular animation will be applied to your entire page.
Note: If you have Canva Pro then after selecting an animation for the element, you can also customize animation settings. You can change the speed and direction of an animation.
Step 6: Preview
Once you have finished animating your presentation, click on the “Present” button from the top right corner of the screen. The “Present” button typically looks like a play button or a monitor icon.
This will open a new set of options in front of you. You can then select in which form you would like to present your slides. For example: present full screen, presenter view, and present and record.
After selecting an option, click on the “Present” button located at the end.
How To Remove Animations In Canva
Open your Canva presentation design and click on the element or page from where you want to remove the existing animation.
Once you select an element, Canva will display a bounding box around the element, indicating that it is selected.
A new toolbar will appear at the top of the screen with various editing options.
Click on the applied animation effect name from the top toolbar.
Now from the left sidebar, click on “Remove Animation” (In case of objects or elements) or “Remove all Animations” (In case of entire page or slide)
