Etsy SEO is a hot topic and why not? it’s so powerful to drive consistent sales using Etsy search even if you are a newbie seller.
So in my last article, I wrote my unbiased review about eRank and also showed you a case study where I almost doubled my traffic using eRank.
Now just like eRank, there is one more popular tool that you may have heard of and this is Marmalead.
In today’s article, we will be comparing both of the tools and give you my unbiased opinion on which tool is better for you.
What is eRank?
eRank is a web-based tool specially designed for Etsy shop owners to perform all types of research tasks to increase their shop’s rankings.
Whether you want to do keyword research, listing audit, tag analysis, or competition tracking, eRank will provide you a ton of tools that can help you do all of this in a few clicks.
So whenever it comes to etsy SEO, eRank is the tool that you should look for.
Features Of eRank
Here are some of my favorite features of eRank:
- Keyword Research Tools
- Competitor Analysis
- Rank Tracking
- Tags Report
- Listing Audit
- Trending Keywords/Items
What is Marmalead?
Just like eRank, marmalead is also a research tool designed for etsy sellers. It provides an amazing keyword research tool that allows you to find the low competitive keywords that people are searching for.
It will provide you lot of amazing keyword ideas based on your search query and then you can figure out which one you want to go with.
You can also compare multiple keywords and do a side-by-side comparison.
The UI is also great if compared with eRank but I guess eRank comes with more features than marmalade.
Features of Marmalead?
- Seasonality Research
- Long Tail Keywords
- Real Seach Volume
- Side by Side Comparison For Keywords
- Listing Grading system
eRank Vs Marmalead
Now let’s compare both of these tools based on some important key points.
If we talk about features then I guess eRank is a clear winner here as it provides way more features than marmalead.
Yes, I am talking about competitors sale tracking, tag analysis, and advance listing audit, all these features are missing in marmalead.
So in terms of features, eRank is the clear winner.
eRank comes with 3 different monthly plans :
- Basic Plan: $5.99/Mo
- Pro Plan: $9.99/Mo
- Expert: $29.99/Mo
and it also comes with a trial plan, so you can actually have a taste of the tool before actually purchasing any of their plan.
However, in Marmalead, we do not have any trial plan and they only have 1 paid plan which is $19/Mo.
So again, eRank is the winner here in terms of pricing, I mean you can easily get the eRank pro plan with almost half of the amount for Marmalead.
3. UI & Ease Of Use
eRank is very advanced tool with lot of stuff going on, their dashboard and tools are kinda complicated, if you are a newbie, you are going to have a hard time with eRAnk in the beginning.
Let me give you an example, eRank has 2 different keyword research tools, now it is going to be really hard for new sellers to find out which keyword research tool they should use for their shop.
He can easily get confused, but I think once you spend some time with eRank, you will get used to it and things will start making sense.
Let me know in the comment section below if you want me to create a video series on the eRank complete guide where I will teach you how to use it step by step, if you are interested please comment down below.
Alright, so on the other hand the UI of marmalead is very beautiful and self-explanatory.
Because of the limited features, you won’t get confused about what to do, or where to click.
So kudos to marmalead here.
Well I am using eRank for a year now and I can say they have got the best support in the world, even the founder Anthony Wolf is such a nice and humble person.
You can blindly trust these guys, trust me you won’t regret it.
I have never talked to marmalead support but one of my friends is using this tool for her crochet shop and she said marmalead also have a great support staff.
They got a small but friendly community.
So I guess both the tools provide great support so it’s a tye here.
In terms of popularity, according to similarweb, I guess eRank got around 1.6 million monthly viewers while marmalead got around 200k monthly viewers.
Now there is a huge gap between monthly viewership but marmalead is more socially active if compared with eRank.
They got around 4,300 followers on their official twitter account and they regularly tweet helpful stuff over there.
They also have a Facebook page with around 12000 likes.
Not only this, they do have a youtube channel as well where they got around 10,000 subscribers and they try to post new videos every single month.
It’s good to see that they are not just a tool, they are trying to build a family, a community around their tool.
So I guess I have explained to you a lot, eRank is stronger if we talk about monthly viewership but the marmalead social game is on the next level.
Both eRank and Marmalead offer a range of features specifically tailored to Etsy sellers, including a keyword tool, SEO grade, and related keyword ideas to help you optimize your listings and shop.
While both eRank and Marmalead are popular choices among Etsy sellers, you may want to consider the one that is capable of satisfying all your needs and fits under your budget.
Which One Should You Buy? eRank or Marmalead?
To be honest it totally depends upon your requirements and what type of person you are.
Do you prefer multiple features under one roof or do you want a sweet and simple keyword research tool?
If I talk about myself, I am a techy guy, I want to have loads of features under one roof, and UI and social presence don’t actually matter to me.
I just want a tool where I can do everything I want related to Etsy and if I get stuck I want quick responses from support staff so that’s why i will always choose eRank over Marmalead.
Also, eRank is way cheaper than marmalead, I mean their pro plan is just $9.9/Mo.
So I think you should definitely buy eRank, there is a bit of a learning curve over there but as i said I will be coming up with video series teaching you everything about eRnak.
So even if you are a non-techy stay-at-home mom, you will be an eRank pro in no time.
But I want to see how much people are actually interested in the video series, so comment down below. (Btw, I read all your comments)
